Micah & I attended our 6th Christmas banquet on November 30th. Actually, Micah was the emcee along with the guys varsity basketball coach. This ended up being a great thing, because we got to sit really close to the stage & had a great view!
One of the fun things that they do throughout the evening is grant wishes to students & staff (which were turned in a couple weeks previous). So, for instance a student might have wished for a pair of slippers & the school decides that is a simple enough wish that they can grant & on the night of Christmas banquet the student gets called to the stage & presented with a pair of slippers. This year, one of the middle school teachers/mom of a senior student wished that all the seniors who had been at BFA as 8th graders would have to come up on the stage & sing to two of their former middle school teachers. As you can see from the picture below, the wish was granted!
Watching this made me realize how hard graduation is going to be again this year. There are just so many good students that we have been really involved with these past 5 or 6 years and it is going to be hard to say goodbye…but at least I don’t have to worry about that for another 6 months!
In other news….here is my new small group of Sophomores at banquet:
In the back next to me you have Jordan, Brittany, Kara, & Liza. In the front you have Caroline, Hannah, & Karis. I have 3 home students and 4 dorm girls (2 of them are from Witt). They are a great group of girls & I am looking forward to getting to know them better these next 2 1/2 years!
And now we head into basketball games, Christmas programs, Christmas parties, & exams! It’s a busy time of year for us at BFA!
