Ezra at 10 weeks

Audrey at 11 weeks

(I know, I know! Little girls should really wear pink (or at least not blue dino jammies), but these jammies are special. We bought them years before we were even considering kids, because Micah liked them so much!)

What do you think? Do they look related? I made the pictures a little smaller below so you can get both faces on the screen at once. It definitely makes me chuckle (& thank God) that my preemie looks nearly as big if not bigger than my “normal” baby!

Audrey seems to be doing okay so far! She definitely has a bad cold, but already we are noticing that she doesn’t seem to be as congested as she was. Thanks for your prayers & feel free to keep them up so that she continues to heal.

RSV

Please pray for Audrey. She has RSV (Respiratory Synctial Virus). This is, as the Pediatrician put it, the world’s worst cold. It can affect both the head & the chest. The dr. said that with RSV you get worse for a week before you start to get better (which can also take a week). Audrey has been sick only since Monday so we have quite a ways to go before she will begin to get better. Some kids with RSV end up in the hospital. Please pray we can avoid the hospital! Pray that she continues to eat well, have wet diapers, & be able to breathe well enough on her own. Pray too for peace for me as her mommy as it is somewhat unnerving to be sent home knowing that your little girl is just going to get worse before she can get better. Pray too for wisdom to know what to do to help her as well as if & when we should go back to the doctors’ office.

This past week Micah & I had the opportunity to experience something very unique: A Change of Command Ceremony.

The ceremony was on Friday, so Audrey & I picked up Micah at work (Ezra stayed home with Nene as we didn’t think a military ceremony was an appropriate venue for a 2 1/2 year old). We stopped for dinner at one of our favorite places to eat:

It was nice to have a meal that was not interrupted by fights over “no thank you” bites & “you can’t get down yet, we’re still eating” conversations! Not to mention that the food was yummy!

We hit lots of traffic, so we didn’t get to our hotel until pretty late. Audrey seemed to enjoy her first hotel experience!

The next morning it was off to the ceremony. The ceremony was outside so it was pretty cold. It was also very formal. All the military personnel were there in their dress uniforms.

Audrey wore her warmest clothes & did us all a huge favor by sleeping through the entire ceremony including the gun salute!

After the ceremony was a reception. We enjoyed talking with our friends briefly, but also catching up with the two BFA families that were also there.

The next exciting thing in our day was the chance to tour a submarine! I have to say I would never be able to do that job!

Audrey got to tour the submarine as well! Someday Ezra will probably be jealous!
